Most contractors do great work every day, but little of it ever makes it online. Jobs get completed, customers are happy, and then everything disappears once the truck leaves the driveway.
Nearby Now was built to fix that. It turns the jobs you’re already doing into proof that you’re a local expert. With check-ins from the field or the office, you can document completed work, request reviews, and build local content that helps customers.
The video below walks through how Nearby Now works.
Nearby Now is a check-in and review platform designed to help local businesses benefit from their day-to-day work. It allows you to quickly build up a library of past work and use your entries to drive reviews, improve search engine rankings, and drive leads.
Many local companies throw money at blog writing and see little benefit. The traffic they get isn’t even in their market. While this content has its uses—especially in terms of general ranking—it rarely produces tangible sales. Blogs can take hours to produce.
A Nearby Now check-in can be completed in just 30 seconds.
When people are searching for the best HVAC contractor or plumber in the area, they want someone who knows what they’re doing. They’re looking for proof that you’re an expert—a company that can quickly solve their home comfort problems. With Nearby Now, communicating your expertise is a breeze.
When your customer visits a Nearby Now page, they see work you’ve done in their neighborhood for people like them. They also see reviews for the type of service they're seeking. This helps engender trust.
Constantly updating and filled with unique content, Nearby Now pages check all the typical SEO boxes. Every check-in is a potential collection of keywords. And, with training from our Nearby Now agency, you’ll know exactly what to put for each entry.
The platform also adds rich schema to every check-in–ensuring search engines correctly interpret the information presented.
As time passes, your Nearby Now pages will become a catalog of expertise for Google and other crawlers. They will know you not only offer AC repair, but that you do it frequently and well.
When reviews are requested as suggested, we typically see a conversion rate of roughly 40% from the platform. This is due in large part to what’s called dynamic review routing.
Upon clicking the link to a review request, the system will check if your client is logged into Google (or Facebook). If so, they’ll be directed to leave a review on that platform. Otherwise, they’ll be taken to the Nearby Now review form. For those who aren’t big on typing, audio testimonials are hassle-free.
Can't get your field staff to request feedback? The office can fully send and manage review requests from an online dashboard!
Online Access is a Nearby Now agency of 10+ years. We've seen how SEO and trust benefits when our plumbing, electrical, and HVAC clients fully capitalize on the platform. Services you get from our agency include:
Nearby Now offers several features in addition to review generation and check in capabilities. These add-ons include:
You can complete a check-in in under a minute in most circumstances. Nearby Now also has some AI features that make generating a well-rounded one almost instantaneous. For most technicians, the biggest adjustment is asking for the review. This is easily remedied with coaching. Our training sessions go into the best way to request and gain customer compliance.
While this isn’t ideal, you’ll still benefit from the check-ins you do have. Even partial usage still builds local content and review momentum over time. There are also a few suggestions we have to boost platform usage. Rewarding the review—with extra money or PTO—can get technicians into the habit of checking in. In cases where this isn’t possible, you can have your office do the heavy lifting instead.
Typically, it’ll take at least 200 check-ins to see the fruits of the platform. This gives search engines enough to chew on. Things can be sped up if you include images and good keywords with every post. For most companies, results become pretty apparent by the 90-day mark.
Before billing starts, we ask every client to go through training. This call requires all your technicians to be there and have accounts set up. Getting fully trained usually takes under an hour. During this call, we’ll explain how to check in, the right words to use, and how to properly request a review. If you want your office to know how to manage the backend, that meeting will be held separately.
When you cancel outright, we download your check ins and reviews and email them to you. The city pages and check-ins will then be removed from your website. To prevent a large loss in rankings, we typically suggest one of two things. First, you can freeze your account. This allows you to keep the produced content as-is, but disables new check-ins. Alternatively, you can get custom city pages written to help offset the loss of check-ins.
While Company Cam and Pin Parrott (now Local Optics) look similar on the surface, there’s one major difference. These other platforms aren’t designed to be crawled. This means they don’t provide any long-term benefit to your site. At the moment, Nearby Now is the only local check-in tool that can be read by crawlers and AI tools.
There are two ways to add users to Nearby Now. First, you can just send a request to us with the employee’s name, cell number, and preferred password. We’ll get the account set up and send you a confirmation. Alternatively, you can use your account to invite them.
Yes! Nearby Now has connections with many of the big players in the contractor CRM space. This includes ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, and Jobber. Their Zapier access also allows for automations in many other platforms. Just let us know what you’re using, and we’ll confirm the automations that exist.
While it can do a lot of work, it doesn’t fully erase the need for custom pages. In most markets, it works better when paired with a robust city page. Service pages are still required.
Check-ins and reviews are automatically posted to the city pages associated with the job. You can locate these pages either through search or your sites service area list. Pages are configured in two different layouts. The first is for companies that regularly get Nearby Now reviews. It displays everything in two columns. Most customers use the masonry layout, a grid-based format that shows your check-ins and testimonials as a gallery.
