How much time does this require from my technicians?

You can complete a check-in in under a minute in most circumstances. Nearby Now also has some AI features that make generating a well-rounded one almost instantaneous. For most technicians, the biggest adjustment is asking for the review. This is easily remedied with coaching. Our training sessions go into the best way to request and gain customer compliance.

What happens if my techs don’t use the app consistently?

While this isn’t ideal, you’ll still benefit from the check-ins you do have. Even partial usage still builds local content and review momentum over time. There are also a few suggestions we have to boost platform usage. Rewarding the review—with extra money or PTO—can get technicians into the habit of checking in. In cases where this isn’t possible, you can have your office do the heavy lifting instead.

How long will it take to see results from Nearby Now?

Typically, it’ll take at least 200 check-ins to see the fruits of the platform. This gives search engines enough to chew on. Things can be sped up if you include images and good keywords with every post. For most companies, results become pretty apparent by the 90-day mark.

What does training involve?

Before billing starts, we ask every client to go through training. This call requires all your technicians to be there and have accounts set up. Getting fully trained usually takes under an hour. During this call, we’ll explain how to check in, the right words to use, and how to properly request a review. If you want your office to know how to manage the backend, that meeting will be held separately.

What happens if I cancel Nearby Now?

When you cancel outright, we download your check ins and reviews and email them to you. The city pages and check-ins will then be removed from your website. To prevent a large loss in rankings, we typically suggest one of two things. First, you can freeze your account. This allows you to keep the produced content as-is, but disables new check-ins. Alternatively, you can get custom city pages written to help offset the loss of check-ins.

Is Nearby Now like Company Cam or Pin Parrott?

While Company Cam and Pin Parrott (now Local Optics) look similar on the surface, there’s one major difference. These other platforms aren’t designed to be crawled. This means they don’t provide any long-term benefit to your site. At the moment, Nearby Now is the only local check-in tool that can be read by crawlers and AI tools.

How do I add more users?

There are two ways to add users to Nearby Now. First, you can just send a request to us with the employee’s name, cell number, and preferred password. We’ll get the account set up and send you a confirmation. Alternatively, you can use your account to invite them.

Can Nearby Now work with my existing CRM?

Yes! Nearby Now has connections with many of the big players in the contractor CRM space. This includes ServiceTitan, FieldEdge, and Jobber. Their Zapier access also allows for automations in many other platforms. Just let us know what you’re using, and we’ll confirm the automations that exist.

Does Nearby Now replace services pages or content?

While it can do a lot of work, it doesn’t fully erase the need for custom pages. In most markets, it works better when paired with a robust city page. Service pages are still required.

Where do the check-ins and reviews appear on my website?

Check-ins and reviews are automatically posted to the city pages associated with the job. You can locate these pages either through search or your sites service area list. Pages are configured in two different layouts. The first is for companies that regularly get Nearby Now reviews. It displays everything in two columns. Most customers use the masonry layout, a grid-based format that shows your check-ins and testimonials as a gallery.
